How To Check That Your Teamgage Notification Email Is Genuine

This guide explains how to verify that a Teamgage Huddle email is genuine and not part of a ransomware or phishing attempt.

What is Ransomware?

Ransomware is a type of malicious software that takes over your computer and prevents you from accessing files. Hackers often use it to extort money from organisations.
The most common way ransomware and other scams enter corporate networks is through email. Scammers often disguise malicious links or attachments in emails that appear harmless.

How To Prevent A Ransomware Attack

To help protect your organisation, follow these best practices when handling emails:
  1. Think Before You Click
    1. Verify the sender email - Teamgage emails will always come from noreply@teamgage.com
    2. Check the links – Teamgage links uses the domain of teamgage.com
    3. Be cautious with attachments - Do not open attachments from unknown senders, especially .zip or .exe files
    4. Never provide sensitive information – Teamgage will never ask for usernames, passwords or other personal info via email
  2. Contact Support When Unsure
    1. If you’re unsure whether an email is genuine, contact your internal IT support
    2. Be extra cautious if the email has a warning banner indicating it came from an external source
