Using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for Sharing Data Files

Using Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) for Sharing Data Files

Overview

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a standard method for securely accessing, transferring, and managing large files or sensitive data. Teamgage supports SFTP so you can automate how you share People & Teams/HRIS data, instead of manually uploading files via the Portal.

Notes on Using SFTP

  1. Once requested, Teamgage will provide you with a dedicated endpoint shared securely
  2. Specify who in your organisation should receive the connection details
  3. If you already have an SSH key pair, share your public key with us so we can configure access
  4. If you require Teamgage to generate a key pair or provide credentials, let us know, we’ll securely share the details
  5. Files are not automatically processed after upload. You’ll need to coordinate a processing schedule with Teamgage
  6. Schedule updates in line with your Huddle/Survey notifications
  7. Allow at least 5 business days before your next reminder to ensure processing is complete
  8. We recommend setting up an automated notification to support@teamgage.com when a new file is uploaded (e.g. “new HRIS extract available”)

How to Setup SFTP

  1. Log a ticket to Support requesting SFTP setup including
    1. Your organisation's name
    2. The email address where Teamgage should securely share the SSH key pair or credentials
  2. Agree on a regular file transfer cadence with Teamgage
  3. Configure an automated notification to support@teamgage.com each time a new file is uploaded
  4. Upload a test file, then notify Teamgage (via support@teamgage.com) once complete
