Additional user identities for Single Sign-On

Additional user identities for Single Sign-On

Sometimes a user's primary email address may not be the same as the one that is registered with your identity provider for Single Sign-On (SSO).

In this case, we allow additional identities to be linked to the user, so that they can continue using their primary email address for communication & identification, while also using their SSO email address (or other form of ID) for authentication.

Both of the methods below for adding extra user identities require administrator privileges.

Adding an Additional Identity to an Individual User

The steps below will demonstrate how to add an additional identity to an individual user for SSO purposes.

Find the User

1. Log in to Teamgage.
2. Navigate to the Users page using the left-hand side menu (pictured below).
3. Using the search bar, find the user you wish to add the identity to and click the corresponding Edit button (also pictured below).

Add the Additional Identity

1. After navigating to the user's edit page using the steps above, click the tab labelled Alternate Identifiers.
2. In the Type selector, choose "Single Sign On ID".
3. In the Value field, type or paste the Email Address/ID the user will use for SSO.
4. Click the Add button to save these changes.

Adding Identities in Bulk

If many users require additional IDs for SSO purposes, this can be done in bulk using an import file.

2. Fill in at least one of the _Match columns (i.e. TeamgageID_Match/Email_Match/CustomID_Match). The other _Match columns may remain blank as long as one is provided. You can also use a user export to easily get the current list of Teamgage ID's/Emails/Custom IDs for each user.
3. Fill in the AuthID column for each user. Once processed, this will be the ID which the user can use for SSO authentication.
