Using Communication Preferences

Using Communication Preferences

You may want to utilise this feature to implement new communication methods across your organisation via the bulk import, set up communication preferences for individual users for a tailored experience or to enable fallback methods to ensure your users receive their notifications.

Our Communication Channels

The Communication Channels we offer in Teamgage are:
  1. Email
  2. Teams
  3. Slack
  4. SMS

Explanation of our Channel Modes

Each of the dropdown menus may be used to select either "On", "Off", or in some cases, "Fallback". This section explains what each of those terms mean.
  1. On: The user will always be sent notifications via this communication channel.
  2. Off: The user will never be sent notifications via this communication channel.
  3. Fallback: The user will be sent notifications via this channel if one of the others were to fail.
For example, we cannot guarantee that a Slack or MS Teams message will be sent to a user, as it relies on the individual user having the Teamgage application installed. However, by setting MS Teams to "On" and Email to "Fallback", Teamgage will first attempt to send a notification to the user via MS Teams, then will send an email only if it was unsuccessful.
