Using Date Ranges in the Huddle Dashboard

Using the Date Selector in the Huddle Dashboard

Teamgage includes a detailed date selector with pre-set and custom options, making it easy to analyse Huddle data over time. Setting the right Date Range and Compare To period ensures you can track trends, improvements, and team performance effectively.

Understanding Date Range vs Compare To

  1. Date Range: The period you want to see submissions from. This is the main number in your Metric card.
    1. Default: From the date of the most recent submission notification to today
  2. Compare To: The period to compare against the Date Range. This helps calculate the Change number in your Metric card.
    1. Default: From the previous submission notification to the day before the most recent one

How to Set the Date Range and Compare To Data Periods

  1. Click on the date shown next to Date range or Compare To at the top of your dashboard
  2. Choose from a list of pre-set ranges (e.g. Last 30 days, This quarter) or select Custom Dates
  3. Use the left (<) or right (>) arrows to move through months
  4. Click a start date in the left calendar and an end date in the right
  5. To jump quickly between months or years, click the month/year label at the top of the calendar
  6. Click OK to apply

Here's what it looks like

Predefined Date Selections

The date selector includes a range of predefined options, so you don’t have to manually select individual dates each time. If you need more flexibility, you can always use the Custom Dates option to choose an exact range. Available pre options include:
  1. Entire Organisation: If you would like to enable this feature please contact support@teamgage.com
  2. Current cycle
  3. Previous cycle
  4. This month / Last month
  5. This quarter / Last quarter
  6. This year / Last year
  7. Last 30 days / Last 3 months / Last 12 months
  8. Each month from the past 12 months

Why It's Useful

Tracking improvements over time validates your team’s efforts. For example, a team may have had low scores in February 2024. By May 2024, their dashboard could be all green. Setting Compare To as February allows you to see exactly how much positive change occurred in areas like Workload Management or Blockers.

FAQ

Q: What are the quarters based on?
A: Quarters in Teamgage follow the financial year calendar:
  1. Q1 = 1 January - 31 March
  2. Q2 = 1 April - 30 June
  3. Q3 = 1 July - 30 September
  4. Q4 = 1 October - 31 December
Q: How do multiple submissions affect results?
A: If a user submits more than once in a period, submissions are averaged before inclusion to prevent over-representation.

Q: Can I view response rates or number of responses between dates?
A: Yes — see the Activity Tab in the Team Results Dashboard or use the Heatmap.

Q: How does the timeline view adjust?
A: Timelines default to monthly units aligned to calendar months. Huddle Notification Schedule units are available if enough data exists to maintain anonymity.
