What is the difference between result date and result change?

When you access your team's dashboard, you'll notice an editable Result Date and Result Change button. Keep reading to learn about the difference between them! 

What is the Result Date?

When you open your Teamgage dashboard, the Result Date will always default to the current day (Today). The Result Date shows the current active Results (active Submissions) on the report for the date selected. The Result Date allows you to compare the current active Results (for Today or the date selected) against the active Results from another point in time via Result Change.

What is the Result Change? 

The Result Change is the date that you'd like to compare the Results Date to. This is date that will help calculate the Change number in your Metric card*. 

By default, the results change date is now the day before your latest submission notification. This will ensure you have the latest results to compare to before the new set of submissions come through from your latest submission schedule. If there is none, it will default to 7 days.

How to compare results over a period of time

When comparing results, you can update the:
  1. Result Date - The date of the Results you're looking at. This is the main number in your Metric card. 
  2. Result Change - The date that you'd like to compare the Results Date to. This is date that will help calculate the Change number in your Metric card.
This way you can compare the active results for the date selected (Result Date) against the active results for a different period (Results Change) and see how results have changed between those two periods and look for improvements or areas for development.

As an example



If today is January 1st, 2021 and we'd like to see the change in results for the Customer Success team over the the last 3-months, we would set:

-Results Date: January 1st, 2021
-Results Change: From 3 months prior (Eg. October 1st, 2020)

We can now see that compared to 3 months ago, Customer Impact has gone down by 5 to 62, and Supported has gone up by 24 to 75! This helps to spark a new team conversation about why Supported has gone up by so much, what can be learned, what best practice can be shared etc?
