Edit a Team Name

Edit a Team Name

As organisations evolve, team names often change to better reflect new structures, departments, locations, projects or reporting lines. Teamgage allows you to update team names at any time, helping keep your organisational hierarchy accurate and easy for employees and leaders to understand.

Changing a team's name will update how that team appears throughout Teamgage, including team lists, reporting dashboards, notifications and results views. Renaming a team does not impact historical results, team memberships, managers, or reporting access.

How to Edit a Team Name

  1. Log into the Teamgage platform
  2. Go to Teams > Teams List from the left-hand side navigation
  3. Search for the team you want to update
  4. Click Edit Team
  5. Click Change next to Name
  6. Type in the new team name and review and select how the membership changes should apply
  7. Click Save

Naming Best Practices

When naming teams, we recommend using names that are instantly recognisable to the people within the team and the leaders reviewing results.
Examples include:
  1. Adelaide Sales Team
  2. Customer Support
  3. Finance Business Partners
  4. Operations Leadership Team
Clear team names make it easier for managers to locate results, understand organisational structures, and communicate effectively with their teams.

Important Considerations

  1. Renaming a team does not remove historical feedback or reporting data
  2. Team members and managers will remain assigned to the team
  3. Results access and reporting structures will remain unchanged unless additional hierarchy changes are made
  1. Applying Membership Changes in the Team Editor
  2. Create a New Team
  3. Moving a Team in Your Organisational Hierarchy
  4. Delete a Team
  5. Restore a Team
