When a team member requests to join a team that requires Manager approval, the manager responsible for that team will receive a notification. From there, managers can review the request and either approve or decline it.
- You can access pending requests directly from the link in your Teamgage notification, or by navigating to Teams > Self Allocation in the Teamgage portal.
- If a team does not have a manager assigned, the request will automatically be sent to the next manager up the organisational hierarchy.
Review Pending Requests
When a request requires approval, it will appear in the Pending Requests tab.
To review a request:
- Log into the Teamgage platform
- Go to Teams > Self Allocation in the side navigation
- Select the Pending Requests tab
- Review the request details
- Choose Approve or Decline
If no action is taken, the request will be automatically approved after 7 days.
Here's What It Looks Like
What Happens When You Approve a Request?
When a request is approved:
- The user is automatically added to your team.
- The Huddle or Survey submission associated with the request is assigned to your team's results.
- The user receives a notification confirming their request has been approved.
If your organisation synchronises people data from an HRIS or another source of truth, ask your Teamgage Administrator to update that system as well. Otherwise, the team change may be overwritten during the next data synchronisation.
What Happens When You Decline a Request?
If you decline a request:
- The user remains in their current team.
- The user receives a notification that their request was declined.
- The notification identifies the manager who declined the request and encourages the user to contact them if they have any questions.
