Sidekick is Teamgage's Artificial Intelligence (AI) capability, designed to help leaders better understand employee feedback, identify meaningful insights and respond with confidence.
Rather than replacing human judgement, Sidekick supports leaders by summarising feedback, highlighting recurring themes, suggesting potential actions and providing coaching guidance to help create more effective conversations.
Sidekick is available across Teamgage Huddle, Surveys and Conversations, helping organisations move from collecting feedback to taking meaningful action.
Sidekick analyses employee comments and helps leaders quickly understand what their teams are saying.
It can assist by:
- Summarising employee feedback
- Identifying recurring themes and patterns
- Highlighting potential focus areas
- Suggesting actions leaders may wish to consider
Where available, Sidekick also references the original employee comments used to generate its analysis. This provides greater transparency and allows leaders to apply their own judgement when interpreting results.
Surveys
Sidekick provides many of the same capabilities within Teamgage Surveys, helping leaders identify trends across larger data sets and understand the key themes emerging from employee feedback.
This allows organisations to move more quickly from survey results to meaningful action planning.
Conversations
Within Teamgage Conversations, Sidekick provides coaching guidance while leaders prepare responses to anonymous employee comments.
Rather than writing responses automatically, Sidekick offers suggestions that help leaders communicate clearly, thoughtfully and constructively while maintaining a positive dialogue with employees.
Smart Submissions
Some Teamgage configurations also include AI-assisted guidance during the employee submission process. These prompts encourage employees to write feedback that is clearer, more constructive and more actionable before they submit it.
Employees always remain in full control of the feedback they choose to provide.
Responsible Use of AI
Sidekick is designed to assist people, not replace them.
All AI-generated summaries, themes, suggested actions and coaching guidance should be reviewed using human judgement before decisions are made.
Leaders and administrators remain responsible for:
- Understanding organisational context
- Reviewing AI-generated outputs
- Validating suggested insights
- Determining appropriate actions
- Ensuring decisions remain fair, reasonable and consistent with organisational policies
Sidekick does not make employment, performance, disciplinary or organisational decisions.
Understanding AI Limitations
Like all AI technologies, Sidekick may occasionally produce outputs that are incomplete, inaccurate or lack important organisational context.
AI-generated outputs may:
- Miss important context
- Produce incomplete summaries
- Highlight patterns that require further investigation
- Reflect biases present within the source data
For this reason, Sidekick should always be viewed as a decision-support tool rather than a decision-maker.
Privacy and Security
Sidekick respects the same permission model as the rest of the Teamgage platform. It only analyses information users are already authorised to access and does not expose additional employee information or compromise anonymity.
Employee feedback remains protected by Teamgage's privacy controls and anonymity safeguards.

Once enabled, Administrators can choose how Sidekick is made available across the organisation, including:
- All Managers
- Selected Managers
- Administrators only
