Giving a User Access to a Team's Results
Most teams will have at least one Manager who can access this team's results. Managers would usually be responsible for kicking-off a Huddle, leading team improvement discussions, adding actions & sharing results.
However, you may also want to grant access to other user(s) to simply view a team's results. They may not actually be that team's direct manager, but are still a person who needs access e.g a HR Business Partner or second-in-command.
The simplest approach is to update the user's Report Access on their Profile. You can use the "Can Access Child Reports" shortcut, so they automatically access the results for all the sub-teams as well. This saves you having to go through an grant them access to each team directly. Basically, this person is inheriting their access to Team's B results because they have access at Team A.
*If you want to grant something access to every team's results, do this at the top level team (eg. the highest team in your organisation hierarchy)
Give someone access to Team results (with inheritance)
Find the user in the Users > List
Select Edit and then the Report Access tab
Find the team's results using the Add Report dropdown
- Consider if you want to use "Can Access Child Reports" *
Add
*You only need to check this box if you want to user to automatically gain (eg. inherit) access the results for all the sub-teams that sit under this team.
Making changes to a user's existing access
Once a User has access, use Edit Flags to make changes. For example, if a user only has access to one team and then you want to give them access to results for all the teams that sit under than team in the hierarchy, you would:
- Find the user in the Users > List
- Select Edit and then the Report Access tab
- Seleclt Edit Flags
- Make the changes (Eg. Check the "Can Access Child Reports" option)
- Select Update - this save the changes
