Updating and Rotating Your Huddle Metrics

Updating and Rotating Your Huddle Metrics

Teamgage allows organisations to regularly review, update and rotate Huddle metrics to ensure feedback remains relevant, focused and aligned with changing business priorities.
While some organisations maintain a stable set of metrics over time, others choose to rotate selected metrics periodically to explore new topics, gather broader insights or support specific initiatives.

Regularly refreshing metrics can help:
  1. Keep the feedback experience fresh and engaging for employees
  2. Explore emerging priorities and areas of focus
  3. Gather deeper insights across a broader range of topics
  4. Maintain concise submissions while still collecting valuable data

Before You Update Your Metrics

If you want to preserve historical reporting for an existing metric, it is important to reuse the original metric rather than creating a new one.
Teamgage tracks metric history using the Metric ID. Creating a new metric with the same wording will not preserve historical results.
Warning
Important: If you are unsure whether a metric should be reused or recreated, contact support@teamgage.com before publishing your new metric set.

Example Metric Rotation Approaches

Maintain a small set of core metrics that remain consistent throughout the year while rotating a small number of additional metrics each month or quarter.
This approach provides:
  1. Long-term trend data on key priorities
  2. Flexibility to explore new topics
  3. A consistent submission experience

Best Practice

Most organisations achieve the best results by maintaining a small number of core metrics that remain stable over time while periodically rotating additional metrics to explore emerging priorities and areas of interest.
This balance provides reliable trend data while keeping the feedback experience relevant and engaging for employees.
